How does it all work?

THE SCIENCE, SIMPLY

How does it all work?

Every Plenny sleep product is built around one hard-working mineral. Here's what it is, where ours comes from, and why we put it on the skin instead of in a pill.

Meet magnesium chloride

01

WHAT IS IT?

Meet magnesium chloride

Magnesium is the mineral your muscles and nerves lean on to relax. When you're running low, it can show up as tight, twitchy muscles and restless nights.

That's why so many moms reach for it: during pregnancy for achy, restless legs and sleepless nights, and for little ones who wake again and again. Massaged in at bedtime, it helps the whole body let go and settle into sleep.

02

WHERE IS IT FROM?

An ancient seabed

Ours is naturally sourced from the Zechstein seabed in the Netherlands: an untouched underground reservoir left behind by an ancient sea.

It's prized for its purity, which is exactly what we want on our kids' skin.

Made for winding down

WHY DO WE USE IT?

Made for winding down

Massaged in as part of a bedtime routine, magnesium chloride supports relaxation and eases everyday muscle tension.

It helps little bodies, and big ones, settle in for the night.

TOPICAL MAGNESIUM

Why through the skin?

Absorbed through the skin

Absorbed through the skin

Transdermal simply means "through the skin." A 2016 study in Magnesium Research found topically applied magnesium passes through the skin, helped along by hair follicles.

Massage it into feet and legs and it's absorbed right where tired muscles need it. No pills or chewables, just a calming massage.

It skips the digestive system, so there's none of the stomach upset some people get from oral supplements.

Right where it's needed

Right where it's needed

Massage onto feet, legs, belly or back, wherever tension builds, as part of a calming ritual.

THE ROUTINE

Three steps to a calmer bedtime

1. Bath & dry

Start with clean, dry skin, right after bath time is perfect.

2. Dose by age

Follow the age guide on the bottle: Little Sleepers for 3m–3yrs, Original for 4yrs+.

3. Massage & snuggle

Massage into the bottoms of the feet until absorbed. Consistency is the key: most families use it every night.
